What it is

The Heller MK7 reflow oven is an ISO-certified system. The MK7 is built in a low-height package that is intended to improve operator visibility across the production floor. The MK7 is highly customizable with nitrogen chamber, air, and vacuum process gas options. The MK7 series is available in several configurations that differ in the number of heated zones and cooling zones. The 1707 MK7 model has seven heated zones and one cool zone. The 1826 MK7 model has ten heated zones (ten top and ten bottom) and two cool zones. The 1913 MK7 model has thirteen heated zones and three cool zones. The 1936 MK7 model has ten heated zones and three cool zones. The 2043 MK7 model has thirteen heated zones and three cool zones.[1][2][3][4][5]

Where it fits in the process flow

General reference — not yet source-verified

In a surface-mount technology assembly line, the reflow oven is placed after the solder paste printer and the pick-and-place machine. The oven receives populated boards and performs the final soldering step. After reflow soldering, boards pass to inspection equipment such as automated optical inspection (AOI) or X-ray inspection.

Applications

The MK7 reflow oven is used for convection reflow soldering in surface-mount technology assembly. The MK7 is also applied in semiconductor advanced packaging and power electronics manufacturing. The MK7 is used in consumer electronics assembly.[1][2][3][4][5]
